So I shot a band called, The Deep Vibration, for Dualtone Records. It went well, they’re nice guys, quiet and soft-spoken, down to earth kind of guys. It was a bit challenging of a shoot, in that I had a couple hours to scout out the area near the venue in Indianapolis and we were kind of stuck in miles of urban sprawl. Luckily, and I mean LUCKILY, I found the Indiana State Fair Grounds and we casually strolled in there to the horse barns and made some photos, where I was awesome enough to totally drop my twin lens onto the dusty floor of the barn… kept shooting with it… It’s character!!!
Then onto a crappy little park where we made some cool shots with the sun at their backs. There was this little girl running around playing in the water so we invited her to be in a few shots… I think it made her day!
Finally we made a few images in a dope little record store called Indie Vinyl, maybe?… It’s on Broadripple.
I got to shoot with my newest camera, the Yashica T2, point and shoot camera… I love it!
Now, after countless man-hours of deliberation, much coffee and no doubt some spiritual guidance… the label has chosen the images they want from the shoot…. (again, I can’t stress this enough, very cool, flat-out rock’n'roll band, if you like obscure people like Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Bruce, you’ll dig these dudes!)
Thus leaving me with a few of the b-sides to show my loyal phlog-ites! most of these were taken with the Yashica (Rule of thumb for my blog: if the picture has that black border around it, it’s the Mamiya, if it’s square it’s the Hasselblad, if it’s rectangle with a clean border, it’s the Yashica T2…. or possibly digital, but VERY unlikely.)

One of my favorites from the shoot

Shout out to the IN State Fairgrounds!

Jeremy and me (sounds kinda like a sitcom)

Luke, diggin’ through vinyls… Luke’s Australian, so all Australians and Australia-lovers should go listen to these guys!

The sign…
